This artwork depicts two lovers. The lover on the right is a crash test dummy, with its back against the wall, fully aware that its fate is to absorb the impact. The lover on the left is the impact itself, visually represented as glass, symbolizing the kind of person who crashes into our lives and unloads all their problems onto us. They hurt us, and all we can do is soften the blow. This piece was born after a phone venting session with the friend I now consider most like me, where I was talking about how I keep meeting people who try to cushion their problems with me, hoping for a relationship where I could be their cure. Masculinity, cornered, silenced, unable to say a "no".
